Community Fundraiser

We’re looking for a Community Fundraiser to help grow the base of people that support Himmah. This role is about building relationships, bringing people in, and turning that support into sustainable income that backs our work on poverty & race.

 

You’ll work across events, campaigns and partnerships, helping to shape how people connect with Himmah and contribute to what we do.

You’ll lead on things like our fundraising dinners and challenge events, build relationships with supporters and local partners, and help grow our regular giving. This isn’t just about hitting targets  it’s about building something that people feel part of, and creating ways for communities to support and sustain the work over the long term.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead on fundraising events, including community dinners and challenge activities

  • Build relationships with high net worth individuals, supporters and corporate partners

  • Grow regular giving and individual supporter programmes

  • Work with local influencers and community figures to expand reach

  • Support digital fundraising and help build a strong supporter database

  • Develop new fundraising opportunities rooted in the community

Bid
Writer

Nottingham, UK

We’re looking for a Bid Writer to help secure funding for Himmah and our partners. This role is about identifying opportunities, coordinating bids and writing strong applications that support our work on poverty, race and community power.

 

You’ll work across the organisation to make sure we’re putting forward clear, well-evidenced proposals that align with what we’re trying to build.

You’ll also support organisations based in our Hub to access funding, helping to strengthen a wider network of community-led work. This isn’t about chasing every opportunity, it’s about being organised, focused and making sure we’re going after the right funding in a way that’s clear, consistent and effective.

In this role, you will:

  • Identify and track relevant funding opportunities

  • Write and coordinate funding applications and proposals

  • Support partners to apply for funding

  • Manage a clear and organised pipeline of bids

  • Work with teams to gather information and develop strong applications

  • Support reporting and compliance requirements

Collaborative Arts organiser

Nottingham, UK

The Collaborative Arts Organiser will sit at the heart of Himmah's cultural work, working on  the design, oversight and delivery of collaborative and participatory arts, narrative and heritage projects that bring communities together across race and class.The post-holder will be primarily based with the Race and Class Arts Lab, while contributing across all three Hubs of the Race, Arts and Heritage strategy.

This is a role for someone who believes that art, culture and heritage are essential tools for organising and liberation, that creative practice can build solidarity across difference, surface community histories, and challenge the dominant narratives that uphold racial and class injustice.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and deliver participatory arts and heritage projects rooted in communities

  • Bring people together across race and class to build relationships and shared work

  • Work with artists, facilitators and participants to co-create projects

  • Organise workshops, exhibitions, performances and public activity

  • Build relationships with community groups and cultural partners

  • Support work that surfaces histories of racism, migration and class

  • Contribute to wider organising, narrative and political education activity

  • Help ensure the work is grounded, ethical and shaped by the communities involved

Anti-Racism Organiser

Nottingham, UK

The Anti-Racism Organiser will sit at the heart of Himmah's organising work, building relationships in racialised and working-class communities, supporting members through advice and casework, and turning lived experience, collective memory and community knowledge into collective power.

This is a role for someone who believes that anti-racism is the organised struggle to shift power, resources, voice and decision-making into the hands of Black, Asian and other racialised communities.

In this role, you will:

  • Build relationships across racialised and working-class communities through the Race Equality Justice Council Nottingham

  • Organise meetings, listening sessions and local activity in priority neighbourhoods

  • Support members through advice, casework and navigating systems

  • Identify patterns in issues and turn them into collective action and campaigns

  • Work with partners, coalitions and public bodies to challenge institutions and shift power

  • Contribute to political education and community-led organising activity

  • Work across the Race and Class Arts Lab to connect organising with cultural and narrative work

  • Engage with the Fanon Centre to support approaches to care, reflection and sustainability in the work

COmmunity Centre manager

We’re looking for a Community Centre Manager to take responsibility for the day to day running of the Hub. This role is about managing the space well, keeping it organised, accessible and financially sustainable, while ensuring it is active, inclusive and well used.

 

You’ll work closely with partners and community groups, grow income through bookings and make sure the Hub continues to be a place where people come together and where collective work can happen.

The Himmah Hub is a shared community space in Nottingham where people come together through food, culture and organising. It brings together local groups, residents and organisations to build relationships, support one another and take action on the issues affecting their communities.

 

The Hub is a key part of how we work, connecting direct support with longer term change by creating a space where people can participate, lead and shape what happens next.

Operations Assistant

​Himmah’s food bank and social supermarket are part of how we respond to immediate need while building longer term change. They are not just services, but spaces where people are treated with dignity, supported to access what they need and connected into wider opportunities, relationships and support.

We’re looking for an Operations Assistant to support the day to day running of these services. This role is about keeping things organised, well stocked and running smoothly, while making sure people have a positive and respectful experience.

 

You’ll work closely with staff and volunteers, support customers and clients, and help ensure the space is clean, safe and welcoming.

 

You’ll also play a role in connecting people into wider support and making sure the service continues to meet the needs of the community.
